Sign-In Issues

First, a reassurance: you don't need an account to use GapFix. The app starts anonymously — no signup, no email — and everything from the gap scan to daily lessons works right away. You only need an account (Apple, Google, LinkedIn, or email) to subscribe to GapFix Pro or to sync your progress across devices. If sign-in is the thing blocking you, this guide is for you.

Use the same method every time

GapFix supports four sign-in options: Apple, Google, LinkedIn, and email + password. The single most common "sign-in issue" is signing in with a different method than you originally used. Each method points at its own account — so tapping Google when you originally used Apple lands you in a fresh, empty account, which looks alarmingly like lost progress.

If your plan, streaks, or XP seem to be missing after signing in, sign out and try the other method you might have used originally.

Forgot your password (email sign-in)

  1. On the email sign-in screen, choose the password reset option.
  2. We send a reset link to your email address.
  3. Open the link and choose a new password.

If the email doesn't arrive:

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Make sure you entered the exact address you signed up with.
  • Give it a few minutes and request the link again.
  • If you actually signed up with Apple, Google, or LinkedIn, there's no GapFix password to reset — use that provider's button instead.

Apple, Google, or LinkedIn button not working

  • Make sure you're signed in to that service on your device — for Apple, check your Apple Account in iOS Settings; for Google or LinkedIn, that you can access the account.
  • Force close GapFix and try again.
  • Check your internet connection — provider sign-in needs one.

Signed in, but progress is missing

Nine times out of ten this is the wrong-method case above. Check the account shown in your Profile. If you're certain it's the right account and progress is still missing, contact us — don't create a new plan on top.

Still locked out?

Email help@gapfix.app with the email address you believe the account uses and which sign-in method you used. One security note: never include your password — we will never ask for it.
