- Click "Send Reset Link"
- Check your email (including spam folder) for a reset link

The reset link expires after 24 hours for security. If it expires, request a new one.
Security Best Practices
Unique Passwords: Use a unique password for GapFix different from other services. If one service is compromised, your other accounts remain protected.
Strong Passwords: Avoid common words, birthdays, or sequential numbers. Use a mix of character types. Consider a passphrase like "LearningChanges2024Life".
Password Manager: Consider using a password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass) to generate and store complex passwords securely.
Regular Updates: Change your password every 3-6 months, or immediately if you suspect compromise.
Don't Share: Never share your password via email, chat, or phone. GapFix support will never ask for your password.
Logout on Shared Devices: Always log out after learning on shared computers, tablets, or phones.
Two-Factor Authentication
For additional security, enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in Settings > Account Security. Learn more in our Two-Factor Authentication guide.
Session Security
GapFix automatically logs you out after 30 days of inactivity on a device for security. You'll need to log back in with your password.
On the same device, if you log in and don't log out, you remain logged in across sessions—convenient for personal devices but not recommended for shared computers.
Troubleshooting Password Issues
Password Not Accepted: Ensure caps lock is off. Passwords are case-sensitive.
Reset Email Not Received: Check spam/junk folders. Make sure you entered the correct email. Try requesting another reset link.
"Password Previously Used" Error: You've used this password in the past and cannot reuse it. Choose a different new password.
Locked Account: After 10 failed login attempts, your account locks for 30 minutes for security. You can still use "Forgot Password" to reset.
Logout for Security
To log out of your account:
- Go to Settings > Account
- Tap "Logout" (or "Sign Out" depending on platform)
- You're logged out. Your data is secure. Login whenever you're ready to learn again.
