Exploring Boosters

Boosters are short, focused microlearning modules that complement your 90-day learning plan. While your plan provides structured, progressive skill development, Boosters let you dive into specific topics, explore adjacent skills, and keep learning no matter how busy you are. At just 5 minutes each, Boosters fit into any schedule.

What Are Boosters?

Boosters are self-contained learning units designed for rapid consumption and immediate application. Each Booster focuses on a single concept, tip, framework, or case study that you can learn, understand, and apply—all in under 5 minutes.

Unlike your personalized plan, you don't need prerequisites to start a Booster. You can jump into any Booster based on your curiosity or immediate need. This flexibility makes Boosters perfect for exploring topics outside your primary skill gaps or getting quick refresher content on familiar subjects.

The 5 Booster Types

All Boosters fall into one of five formats, each delivering knowledge differently:

Tips: Quick, actionable advice you can implement immediately. "5 Ways to Reduce Meeting Fatigue" or "Three Phrases to Use Instead of 'No'" are typical Tips Boosters.

Frameworks: Structured approaches or methodologies. These teach models like "The Decision Matrix Framework" or "5-Step Negotiation Process" that you can apply repeatedly.

Templates: Ready-to-use documents, checklists, or tools. A "Project Kickoff Checklist" or "Email Template for Difficult Conversations" template Booster gives you working assets immediately.

Stories: Real-world case studies and lessons learned. Hear how other professionals handled challenges similar to yours and extract insights from their experiences.

Lessons: Focused teaching content covering fundamental concepts. Slightly more in-depth than tips but still quick, these cover topics like "Understanding the Agile Methodology" or "Basics of Financial Analysis."

The 5 Booster Categories

Boosters are organized into five major skill areas aligned with professional development:

Visibility: Building your professional presence, personal branding, networking, speaking up in meetings, establishing credibility, visibility on social platforms, thought leadership.

Communication: Clear writing, presentation skills, active listening, difficult conversations, email effectiveness, storytelling, cross-functional communication.

Leadership: Team management, delegation, motivation, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, executive presence, coaching others.

Prioritization: Time management, decision-making, goal setting, managing competing priorities, saying no effectively, workload management.

Time Management: Calendar management, productivity systems, batch processing, energy management, focus techniques, reducing distractions, work-life balance.

Each Booster carries a single category tag, making it easy to browse or filter by skill area.

Finding Boosters

Locating the right Booster is straightforward:

Search: Use the search bar in the Boosters section and type keywords like "negotiation" or "email writing." Intelligent search matches titles, descriptions, and tags.

Filter: Narrow results by difficulty level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), category, or type. You can apply multiple filters to find exactly what you need.

Browse: Explore the library without filters to discover content you might not have thought to search for. Many users find their favorite Boosters through browsing.

Recommendations: Your dashboard shows personalized Booster recommendations based on your learning history, plan focus, and industry.

Collections: Pre-curated groups of Boosters organized around themes (e.g., "Public Speaking Essentials," "Leadership 101") make it easy to find related content.

Saving Boosters to Your Library

Once you've completed a Booster or found one you want to revisit later, save it to your personal Library. To save:

  1. Open any Booster
  2. Tap the bookmark or save icon (varies by platform)
  3. The Booster is added to your Library under "Saved Boosters"

Your Library is organized by category and search-enabled, so you can quickly find that one "negotiation tips" Booster you remember but can't quite locate.

Saved Boosters sync across all your devices, so you can save on your iPhone and access on your iPad or Android device.

Booster Difficulty Levels

Each Booster carries a difficulty designation:

Beginner: No prior knowledge required. Great for exploring new topics or foundational content.

Intermediate: Assumes basic familiarity with the topic. Perfect if you've completed some introductory content.

Advanced: For experienced professionals wanting to deepen expertise. Assume you know fundamentals and are ready for sophisticated approaches.

Your learning plan difficulty also influences recommendations, but you can always try any Booster regardless of your level.

Earning XP with Boosters

Completing a Booster earns you 25 XP, contributing to your overall GapFixScore and level progression. Free users can complete 10 Boosters per month; Premium members have unlimited access.

Tips for Booster Success

Combine with Your Plan: Use Boosters to explore topics adjacent to your plan's focus, creating a comprehensive skill-building experience.

One Per Commute: Many users do one Booster during their commute. Five minutes of focused learning, five days a week adds up.

Build Streaks: Consistent Booster completion builds your learning streak, motivating continued engagement.

Apply Immediately: The most effective learning happens when you apply concepts within 24 hours. After completing a Booster, try implementing one insight before moving on.
