Saving Favorites
Saving Favorites
The Save to Favorites feature in GapFix lets you bookmark Boosters you want to revisit, organize them into personal collections, and build a personalized learning library. This creates a curated set of resources tailored to your goals and interests.
Why Save Favorites?
Quick access: Instead of searching for a Booster again, your saved Boosters appear in one place for instant access.
Reminder system: Saving a Booster reminds you to come back and complete it or revisit it for deeper learning.
Collection building: Group related Boosters together for comprehensive skill development in a specific area.
Personal reference library: Over time, your saved Boosters become a custom reference library you can consult repeatedly.
Spaced learning: Save a Booster, complete it, then revisit it weeks later to reinforce learning.
How to Save a Booster
Method 1: From Booster Card
- In the Boosters library, find the Booster you want to save
- Tap the heart icon on the Booster card
- The heart fills in, indicating the Booster is saved
- It appears immediately in your "Saved" list
Method 2: From Within a Booster
- Open a Booster you're viewing
- Tap the heart icon at the top of the screen
- The Booster is saved to your Saved list
- A confirmation message appears
Method 3: From Three-Dot Menu
- On any Booster card, tap the three-dot menu (⋯)
- Select "Save to Favorites" (or "Add to Saved")
- Choose to save to your general Saved list or to a specific collection
- The Booster is saved
All three methods work identically—use whichever is most convenient in that moment.
Accessing Your Saved Boosters
View all saved Boosters:
- From the main menu, tap the "Saved" or "Favorites" section
- See all bookmarked Boosters in chronological order (most recent saves at top)
- Tap any Booster to start learning
From Boosters library:
- In the Boosters library, you can see a "Saved" filter option
- Apply the filter to show only your saved Boosters among all library options
Your Saved list is synced across devices, so a Booster saved on your iPhone appears in your Saved list on your iPad or Android device automatically.
Creating Collections
Collections are custom groups of related Boosters that you create to organize your learning around specific goals or topics.
Why create collections?
- Goal-focused learning: Group all Boosters related to "Leadership Skills" or "Excel Mastery" to build capability in one area
- Topic deep-dives: Create a collection on "Public Speaking" with Tips & Tricks, Frameworks, Case Studies, and Templates
- Role-specific learning: Create collections for different roles (if you're exploring a future role) or for different team members
- Time-bound learning: Create a collection for "This Quarter's Development Goals"
- Sharing: Share collections with team members or colleagues for collaborative learning
To create a collection:
- Go to your Saved Boosters page
- Tap "Create Collection" (or the "+" button next to Collections)
- Give your collection a name (e.g., "Leadership Development," "Q2 Growth Goals")
- Optionally add a description explaining the collection's purpose
- Select an icon or color for easy visual identification
- Tap "Create"
Your new collection appears in your Collections list, initially empty.
To add Boosters to a collection:
Method A: From Saved Boosters list
- Find a saved Booster in your Saved list
- Tap and hold on the Booster, or tap the three-dot menu
- Select "Add to Collection"
- Choose which collection(s) to add it to (a Booster can belong to multiple collections)
- The Booster appears in that collection
Method B: While saving a Booster
- When saving a new Booster (before you've finished saving), the save dialog offers to add it to a collection
- Select the collection you want to add it to
- Tap "Save"
Method C: From within a collection
- Open a collection
- Tap "Add Booster"
- Search or browse for Boosters to add
- Tap the "+" to add them to this collection
Organizing Your Collections
View all collections:
- From your Saved section, tap the "Collections" tab
- See all your collections with counts of Boosters in each
- Collections are sortable by name or by date created
Editing a collection:
- Tap the collection to open it
- Tap the settings or three-dot menu
- Options include:
Removing Boosters from collections:
- Open the collection
- Long-press or swipe on the Booster you want to remove
- Tap "Remove from Collection"
- The Booster stays in your Saved list but leaves this collection
- Note: You can belong to multiple collections, so you can remove from one while keeping in others
Deleting collections:
- From your Collections list, long-press the collection
- Tap "Delete Collection"
- Confirm the deletion
- Important: Deleting a collection does NOT delete the Boosters—they remain in your Saved list
- The grouping is simply removed
Using Collections for Learning Paths
Collections naturally create self-paced learning paths:
Example: Building a "Communication Excellence" collection
- Add the Framework: "STAR Method for Storytelling"
- Add the Tips & Tricks: "5 Ways to Captivate Your Audience"
- Add the Case Study: "How a Shy Engineer Became a Great Presenter"
- Add the Template: "Presentation Structure Checklist"
- Add a second Framework: "Presentation Design Principles"
Open this collection and work through the Boosters in order or in whatever sequence works for you. By the end, you've built meaningful communication skills from multiple angles.
Sharing Collections
Share with team members (Premium feature):
- Open a collection you've created
- Tap the share icon or "Share" option
- Choose to share via:
- Recipients see the collection and can view your Booster selections
- They cannot edit your collection, but can save your collection as a template for their own
Creating shareable collections:
Some users create collections specifically to share with their team or managers:
- "Skills I'm Developing This Quarter"
- "Recommended Learning for [Role]"
- "Team Development Path for [Skill]"
These provide transparency into your learning goals and can prompt conversations about skill development.
Managing Your Saved Boosters
Remove from Saved:
- In your Saved list, long-press the Booster
- Tap "Remove from Saved" or the trash icon
- The Booster is removed from your Saved list (and any collections containing it)
- Note: You haven't deleted the Booster—it remains available in the library
Sort your Saved Boosters:
- In the Saved section, tap "Sort" option
- Options include:
Search within saved:
- In your Saved section, use the search bar
- Search by Booster title, topic, or tags
- Instantly find a specific saved Booster
Track completion within collections:
Collections show which Boosters you've completed and which you haven't:
- Checkmark indicates completed
- No mark indicates not yet completed
- Progress bar shows percentage of collection completed
Best Practices for Saving and Organizing
Don't over-save: Save Boosters you genuinely plan to revisit. A massive Saved list becomes overwhelming. Quality over quantity.
Use descriptive collection names: Instead of "Random," use "Communication Skills Q2 2026" so future-you understands the purpose.
Create goal-aligned collections: Align collections with your quarterly goals or development plan to stay focused on what matters.
Mix Booster types in collections: Combining frameworks, tips, case studies, and templates in one collection creates a comprehensive learning experience.
Review collections monthly: Once a month, review your collections. Remove Boosters you've completed and no longer need, add new ones as you identify relevant content.
Share collections for feedback: Ask your manager or mentor to review your learning collections and suggest additions.
Archive vs. delete: If you've completed a collection and won't reference it again, you can't archive it, but you can delete it and recreate it if needed later.
Pro Tips for Favorite Management
Smart saving pattern: When browsing, save any Booster that catches your eye, then at the end of your session, review your newly-saved Boosters and organize them into appropriate collections.
Weekly curation: Every Sunday, spend 5 minutes reviewing your saved list and organizing new saves into collections for the week ahead.
Deep-dive collections: For skills you're serious about mastering, create comprehensive collections with 8-12 Boosters covering all angles of that skill.
Seasonal collections: Create quarterly collections aligned with your development goals, then review and update them at the start of each quarter.
Use collections for different audiences: Create "Leadership Boosters" to share with your team, separate from "Personal Growth" Boosters that are just for you.
Troubleshooting Saved Boosters
Booster disappeared from Saved:
- Check if you accidentally unsaved it
- Check your collections—the Booster might have been moved to a collection
- Search for the Booster by name and resave it
Collection is empty after sync:
- Refresh your app by closing and reopening
- Check the collection is synced by going to Settings > Account > Sync
- If still empty, re-add your Boosters to the collection
Can't find a Booster in a collection:
- Use the collection search to locate it by name
- Check if you removed it accidentally
- If the Booster was unpublished by GapFix, it will disappear from collections (rare)
Collections not syncing across devices:
- Ensure you're logged into the same account on all devices
- Close the app on both devices, then reopen
- Go to Settings > Account > Force Sync to trigger immediate sync
