Uploading Your CV
Your CV is the raw material for GapFix's gap analysis. Here's how to add it, what the AI does with it, and how your data is handled.
How to Add Your CV
During onboarding, GapFix asks for your resume. You have three options:
- Upload a file — PDF, DOCX, or plain text
- Paste the text of your CV directly
- Skip the resume and enter your skills manually instead
No account is needed for any of this — the analysis runs before you ever sign in.
What the AI Does With It
GapFix reads your CV against the target role you picked (from roughly 230 tech and product roles) and works out where you stand:
- Extracts the skills and experience your resume shows
- Compares them to what your target role expects
- Labels each relevant skill as Missing, Needs work, Refresher, or Strong
- Produces your role-fit score — how closely your profile matches the role
- Highlights Quick Wins — the gaps you can close fastest
From that analysis, GapFix builds your personalized 12-week plan, sized to the weekly hours you choose.
Tips for a Better Analysis
- Use your most recent CV — the analysis is only as current as the document you give it
- Plain, well-structured text works best; heavily designed layouts can be harder to parse
- If a skill doesn't appear on your CV, the AI can't see it — enter it manually or update your resume and re-run the scan
Privacy & Your Data
Your CV is used to find your skill gaps and personalize your plan — that's what it's for. You can delete your CV and your data at any time from Settings in the app. Questions about how your data is handled? Email us at help@gapfix.app.
