Rewards & Badges
Beyond achievements (which recognize specific milestones), GapFix offers rewards and allows badge display on your profile. These visual representations of your progress and accomplishments add a layer of recognition and community identity.
Understanding Badges vs. Achievements
While similar, there are important differences:
Achievements (22 total):
- Unlock by meeting specific criteria
- Each achievement grants bonus XP
- Each has a specific achievement badge
- Represent major milestones (e.g., "Streak Master," "Mastery Achieved")
- Display in your Achievements section
Badges (multiple categories):
- Some badges come from achievements (achievement badges)
- Some come from activity milestones (e.g., "100 Boosters Completed")
- Some come from skill-based accomplishments
- Some come from seasonal or limited-time challenges
- More granular than achievements
Types of Badges
#### Level Badges (6 badges)
For each major level milestone:
- Level 10 Badge: A bronze badge
- Level 25 Badge: A silver badge
- Level 50 Badge: A gold badge
- Past Level 50: Mastery badge (unlimited progression shown)
These automatically appear on your profile as you reach each level.
#### Streak Badges (4 badges)
Visual representations of your streaking ability:
- 7-Day Streaker: Bronze streak icon
- 30-Day Streaker: Silver streak icon
- 60-Day Streaker: Gold streak icon
- 100-Day Legend: Platinum streak icon
The highest streak badge you've achieved displays on your profile (it's your "current" streak badge).
#### Activity Milestone Badges (5 badges)
For completing significant numbers of content:
- 25 Boosters: Bronze Booster badge
- 50 Boosters: Silver Booster badge
- 100 Boosters: Gold Booster badge
- Plan Completer: Diploma badge (completing entire 90-day plan)
- Quiz Master: Checkmark badge (completing 25+ quizzes)
#### Seasonal & Challenge Badges (Variable)
GapFix occasionally releases seasonal or challenge-based badges:
- Q1 Challenge: Unlock by hitting a specific goal during Q1
- Summer Sprint: Unlock by maintaining 30-day streak during summer
- Year-End Legend: Unlock by reaching specific milestones during December
These rotate and are usually announced in-app.
#### Learning Path Badges (Variable)
For completing curated collections or learning paths:
- Communication Master: Complete all communication-focused Boosters
- Leadership Certified: Complete the full leadership Booster collection
- Technical Expert: Complete 20+ technical Boosters in one category
- Well-Rounded Learner: Complete Boosters across 10+ categories
Displaying Badges on Your Profile
Your profile has a badge display section. You can:
Pin badges:
- Go to your Profile > Badge Settings
- See all your unlocked badges
- Choose which 5-8 badges to "pin" and display prominently
- Pinned badges appear first on your profile
Prioritize display:
- Recently unlocked badges often auto-pin
- You can customize the order of pinned badges
- Arrange them to tell a story about your learning journey
Hide specific badges (optional):
- You can hide certain badges from public display
- Hidden badges still count toward your achievement count
- Useful if you want to curate your public profile
Sharing Badges and Accomplishments
Share on social media:
- When you unlock an achievement or badge, you can generate a shareable graphic
- Share on LinkedIn, Twitter, or email
- Graphics include your name, the badge/achievement, and a congratulatory message
Profile links:
- You can share your GapFix profile link with colleagues or managers
- They'll see all your pinned badges and level
- Great for demonstrating learning commitment to employers
Team recognition:
- In organizations, teams often celebrate leaderboard winners and badge unlocks
- Some managers highlight team members who unlock major achievements in company updates
Badge Rarity and Prestige
Some badges are rarer than others based on unlock difficulty:
Common badges (many users have):
- Level 10
- 7-Day Streak
- 25 Boosters
Uncommon badges (fewer users):
- Level 25
- 30-Day Streak
- 50 Boosters
- "Leaderboard Leader"
Rare badges (elite users only):
- Level 50 Mastery
- 100-Day Streak
- 100 Boosters
- All 22 Achievements unlocked
When you hover over a badge, GapFix shows the percentage of users who have unlocked it. Rarer badges carry more prestige.
Points and Redemption (Future Feature)
GapFix is testing a rewards redemption system (not yet live for all users):
The concept:
- Badges and achievements grant points
- Points accumulate and can be redeemed for rewards
- Rewards might include: Premium subscription discounts, exclusive Booster content, merchandise, or charitable donations in your name
Current status:
- This feature is in beta testing
- Not all users have access yet
- Will be rolled out over coming months
Where to find it (if enabled):
- Settings > Rewards & Points
- See your accumulated points balance
- Browse available redemptions
- Claim rewards
Pro Tips for Badge and Reward Optimization
Diversify badge types: Having badges across multiple categories (streaks, levels, achievements) looks more impressive than badges all in one category.
Highlight your strongest achievement: Choose your rarest badge to pin prominently. If you're in the top 1% with a Level 50 badge, that should be featured.
Share selectively: Sharing major badges helps reinforce your learning identity. Don't share every badge—reserved sharing makes them more special.
Seasonal badge hunting: If GapFix releases seasonal badges, try to unlock them. Seasonal badges show year-round engagement.
Use badges in professional contexts: Mention your badges in LinkedIn profiles, performance reviews, or conversations about professional development. They provide concrete evidence of commitment to learning.
Customizing Your Badge Profile
Theme-based badge arrangement:
- Some users arrange badges to tell a specific story (e.g., all leadership badges together)
- Others arrange by rarity (rare badges first)
- Others arrange by unlock date (newest first)
Caption badges:
- You can add a custom note under your pinned badges
- E.g., under your Level 50 badge: "Mastery achieved through 6 months of daily learning"
- This personalizes your badge display
Private vs. public badges:
- Keep your full badge collection private in Settings > Privacy
- Only show specific badges publicly
- Useful if you want to control what's visible on your profile
Troubleshooting Badges
Badge didn't unlock when I hit the requirement:
- Give the app a moment to sync (close and reopen)
- Go to Settings > Account > Sync to force immediate sync
- Check the exact requirement—might have additional criteria
My badge disappeared:
- Badges don't disappear once unlocked
- Check your full badge list (might be using a filter)
- The badge is still in your history even if unpinned
Can't share a badge:
- Ensure the badge is unlocked (not grayed out)
- Check if sharing is enabled in your privacy settings
- Some organizational accounts restrict sharing
Leaderboard badge shows wrong rank:
- Leaderboard badges reflect historical achievements
- If you were top 10 last month but not this month, you still have the badge but might not be top 10 now
- Badges are permanent even if current rank drops
How do I hide a badge from my profile?
- Go to Profile > Badge Settings
- Tap the eye icon or settings on the badge to hide it
- Hidden badges don't appear on your public profile but still count toward your total
